I fix basement cracks – permanently!
The construction process for modern residential foundations is a poured concrete process. It’s a far superior process to bricks and mortar. However, a variety of soil conditions, water tables and settlement issues can lead to stresses on your foundation that cause basement cracks from floor to ceiling. Foundation cracks are a common problem. 80% of residential homes in Oakville, Mississauga, Burlington, Brampton and Georgetown have a basement crack problem.
The good news on crack repair
The good news is that a basement foundation crack is not a structural defect. However, basement foundation cracks must be dealt with in a timely and professional manner. In order to repair these foundation cracks there are different options available. Accurate Construction is able to repair the foundation cracks from the inside, with no excavation required! Our method will ensure the foundation crack will be repaired all the way down to the footings, so no water enters below the basement floor. I strongly favour the high pressure polyurethane grout injection process.
Polyurethane vs. Epoxy Resin
Epoxy Resin is inflexible, not allowing for small movements in the foundation and is considered a 'topical' repair. This method still allows water to enter from the outside and sit in the foundation crack. When this water freezes and expands, the Epoxy Resin repair is breeched. The better choice is the High-Pressure Polyurethane Grout injection. The Polyurethane Grout seals the basement crack from the inside to the outside, waterproofing the crack. Polyurethane Grout also remains flexible so no new foundation cracks form in the same location.
